It's no secret that I've been out of the loop for a bit and a lot has changed while I was gone. We seem to be locked in a neigh-constant war against DNS, the corp has moved groundside and we joined up with Matthew Dust's CANDM only a few days before I came back.
Since I decided to poke my head back in during the middle of a move and it might be a day or two before I can have a proper sit down to chat, who wants to give me the cliffnotes of what's going on? How all the fighting started, anything they know about our allies, etc, etc? I can only work my magic of backstabbing and talk people into killing one another if I know who else is on the playing field with us.
Anything you guys can think of is helpful, right down to introducing yourself. So who's first?

Hi, I'm zor-el dantnick, unofficial badass killing machine of death, official troll of the corp. I joined about 3 months ago after months of constant pestering from fire2myblunt to join the Phoenix fed. I currently hold the rank of sub-director. My pastimes include drinking handmade orange spice tea while sitting in idle in the merc quarters, or sitting around watching anime on my phone while sitting in idle in the merc quarters. Now enough about me, onto the DNS stuff...
DNS is a super alliance hellbent on controlling all of molden heath like a bunch of greedy a**holes. So far, they've done just that. They include fatal absolution, gods among men, dem dirty boys, ancient exiles, escrow removal and acquisition, capital acquisitions LLC, nyain San, and ahrendee mercenaries. Currently, their weakest link is dem dirty boys. However, their strategy is fighting each others battles. If dem dirty boys is incapable of defending their district, they call in their A-team. To date, we haven't been able to steal a district, but we have managed to provoke their A-team into having to make an appearance.
Was that helpful info?

Let me add a couple more pieces of info. There are a lot of reasons why the best* corps in the game decided to 'blue up' and lock down Molden Heath, and attributing what they've done to any one person is diffucult if not impossible, however there are some names of DNS members that stick out as being 'leaders'.
One is the CPM member Kain Spero (EVE name). His Dust character is Kane Spero. His Corp, Escrow Removal & Acquisition, currently holds the largest share of Molden Heath, at 30%. Many people would say he was and still is a driving force behind the formation and operation of DNS. There are many rumors about why he is trying to conquer Molden Heath, but the one I keep hearing is that he is trying to demonstrate to CCP the flaws of Planetary Conquest.
Another is a Dust player named CHICAGOCUBS4EVER. He is the CEO of the scariest corporation in Dust to date, called TeamPlayers. Whenever something big happens in Dust, you can bet your right lung he was involved or will be. He throws his support behind Kain because quote: "He has the ISK. If he didn't, I wouldn't work with him."
I'd be willing to bet that most important decisions get run by these 2 guys before implimentation. Also one last thing: DNS's stated goal is to hold 100% of Molden Heath at FanFest. After that...who knows what will happen. We need to be ready to act should the situation change.

There's a *CPM* now. The more things change...
One of the things that came up when I googled Kain's name was an article by The Mittani where he, eloquently as always, suggested he earned the seat by "organizing the herd of stray cats that is the DUST player base". A bit cheeky, but it does raise an interesting point. Most members of DNS probably only follow Kain and the rest if the alliance for one reason: convenience.
Kain & company have Molden Heath on lockdown. Join him, get a cut of the spoils and a mutual protection pact from your allies to boot. Whether this is all to make a point that, honestly, he could just make as a member of the CPM by just talking to CCP doesn't really matter. If that convenience breaks everything starts to weaken.
As for the merc with the ascenine name, he'll jump ship the moment things go south, if ever.
Since Matt made a point of referring to us as "the resistance" multiple times I'm assuming CANDM is outnumbered by, what, three to one? Four? And how much EVE support do these crietens have? I'm guessing lots, giving that Kane has been floating around spinning his wheels for nine years.
Most importantly, I have one question: are DNS succeeding in holding just by sheer strength in numbers in resources? Or is there more to it than that?

Well, I guess we ARE the resistance because fanfest is on the 1st of May and Molden Heath is still held by a lot of corps... Right?

Well I suppose it doesn't really matter anymore now. FanFest blindsided everyone...I'm going to go ahead and say that The Phoenix Federation has taken it's foot off the gas pedal and we're just coasting now. I'm sorry Isabella but you came back in time to see Dust die lol. I'm curious...what do the EVE players think of Dust's death, and how do they feel about Legion?

From what I've seen most see this as a mercy-killing more than anything, saying that DUST sucked and how excited they are for Legion.
The phrase "PC Gaming Master Race" has gotten thrown around a lot, with no one realizing that it was coined as a dig and not a term of endearment. Idiots.
We've also got a few people just abandoning ship. I'm sure you've seen by now that Matthew Dust has chosen to opt out and left his own alliance. Things aren't looking good. It's a pity, too. I just got a PvP corp here in EVE interested in providing fleet support. We were about to have numbers to match DNS in space.
So are we all just throwing in the towel here?

I can't speak for everyone, but things will inevitably slow down. Whether we continue the fight against DNS depends on our members and also on our enemies' will to keep playing. I'm hesitant to say what we'll do one way or the other. Poncho would be the one to ask about that. The way things are turning out is making me feel guilty...

Oh God! I HATE PC ELITISTS!!!!!!! The only reason those dumb asses are happy that Dust is closing is because now they have a new game that they can play on devices that can probably run China on its own....... Whatever I guess...
